Since between LJ and twitter the interweb knows everything, you guys should be able to offer something...
Do any of you know anything about how to care for and help an arthritic cat? Twinkle's been officially diagnosed with it today. My poor monster's had trouble jumping for a while, and he was at the vet today. She says he's in a lot of pain and has given him a medicine that will hopefully help. But aside from that and lifting him when he can't jump, is there anything that might help him?
My poor little guy. I feel so bad for him and hate to think of him suffering, since he's such a lovely cat, and such a big soppy WUSS as well. He shall get extra cuddles tonight.

Date: 2009-06-24 04:57 pm (UTC)Just like humans: ramps and the equivalent to higher surfaces. One friend has a set of carpeted, shallow stairs (some sort of cat tree device) that allows her cat to climb from the floor up to her favorite chair. The other one has dropped her bed to the floor (by getting rid of the bed frame) to make it easier for her cat to get up on it.
