Rose asked me five questions; here are five answers. :)
1. If you got the chance to see Sharks play, who would you want to see them against?

Oh lord, this shouldn't have taken as long as it did to answer. I thought I might be sneaky and say the Sabres or Bruins and then whoever won I'd be happy, but no, I don't want to be torn: if I'm going to the Shark Tank, I want to be a flaming homer. I want to be All Sharks, All The Way, Dammit. For a feisty game I thought about saying Ducks, but after the playoff debacle I'm not sure my heart could take it if they lost to those fuckers (yes I know I wanted the Ducks to win the cup in 07; it's not 07 anymore and they didn't go through the Sharks that year. This year they did, so they can fuck off). Red Wings would be an awesome game too, but they have a habit of doing a number on San Jose, so hmm. Someone like the Oilers or the Stars or the Canucks would be good. Someone who isn't awful, someone who can give the Sharks a game, but who doesn't make me want to punch railings and break my hand.

2. What makes you happier than anything?

I feel a bit guilty that I could put down half a dozen things for this! Although I'm in that everything is ACE mood today; I could put down the fact that Venus As A Boy is on the radio, eeeee. I won't though. :) I was going to put comedy, for it is responsible for a life-change; it was only after I went to Edinburgh last year that I realised comedy doesn't have to be one-liner or story-punchline - though obviously that's a wonderful thing; but it can make you think as well. It's not just about telling jokes, in other words, or pithy observations. I'm blaming Richard Herring for this, for being the first comedian to vaguely offend me but then make me think about why instead of me going "well for fuck's sake he's clearly a tosser". I won't go into that here, but basically it didn't last: Herring is a comedy hero and I am a different person for being emerged in that world.

Having said that - yes I know - what makes me happiest is probably the fact that I nearly fell into an abyss, but I didn't. I thought I was finished and done for and that was the very end of me and I was actually going to do something stupid and end up in a hospital or a coffin. I survived and am a different person on the other side. I actually give a damn about myself, now. It's a wonderful thing.

3. If you had to leave NI, where would you move?

Edinburgh. Used to be London but London's huge, expensive, overwhelming and too fucking hot in the summertime. Edinburgh is expensive too, but has all you need from a big city without feeling like a big city, it has gorgeous architecture, it has comedy, and my hockey team are there. Oh, and before they dug it up to fuck, the buses worked quite well. Bear in mind I'm from here, and there are no buses.

4. If you could be any animal, what would you be?

A cat. No hesitation. The one that lives with us is the happiest creature I have ever encountered, and no wonder: he sleeps, he gets up, he has an epic stretch, he eats, he sleeps again. Sometimes he sunbathes. He has people to scratch his ears for him. He gets cuddles. He gets to sit where he wants. He hasn't a care in the world. He has two people who adore him. He loves unconditionally. What a life. :)

5. What are you looking forward to most this year?

FRIIIIINGE EDINBURGH AUGUST WHEE! Ahem. I won't start again or I'll start bouncing and never stop. Also:: being an Edinburgh Capitals fan, though it's going to be weird living away from the EIHL team. Starting the degree proper. NHL season, yes, already. :D
