Outside my window... Is a multi-story car park. Okay, I'm at work. Just above the car park I can see the top of the Belfast wheel. "London has a big fucking wheel, why can't we?" Because you're Belfast? I am being glib. I quite like the wheel. :)

I am thinking... That I'm quite glad it's raining. It is SO humid and the air needs to clear. Also about Free Agent Frenzy when the NHL goes batshit and I hate it I haaaate iiiiit.

I am thankful for... My improved mental health, my family, my friends.

From the kitchen... The work kitchen smells like something died. So there's that.

I am wearing... Black trousers, purple top.

I am creating... HAVOC. No, that's just what I wish. Umm, I am creating scenarios in which my forthcoming essay is ACE, but we shall see.

I am going... to spend most of today yawning, apparently. :)

I'm reading... At home, it's What's Going On? by Mark Steel, as a result of too much News Quiz... wait what. No. There is no such thing. In my bag I have The Rough Guide to Happiness. It IS relevant and not just me trying to self-help my problems into thin air: the psychology of happiness is basically the entire second half of my OU course and it's interesting :)

I am hoping... That my essay is good. That my iphone turns up today. That the weather cools down soon so I can sleep properly.

I am hearing... The Wimbledon music on the radio. NEEDS MORE WIMBLEDON. Dammit.

Around the house... We're decorating next month. Again. Ohgodnooooo

One of my favorite things... I have a fuckton of those, so my current favourite thing is Arrested Development which Chris has been trying to get me to watch for ages. It's very, very good.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Today is finishing early, going for summat to eat (it was meant to be with Tracy but she is poooorly :( so I'm going on me own), and writing a long-ass letter to Las, which is a very nice alliteration! Tomorrow is work and weight clinic. Friday is work and home and FUH-LOP. Saturday is swimming and finishing essay. Sunday is Wimbledon final so the day will have be structured around that! Doesn't look very exciting but eh. I like it. :)

Since I'm not writing much on the interweb lately, have a couple of columns from other people wot made me glee.

Within minutes of the first reports, it was clear the world was going mad. The reporter on Radio 5 Live told us the news from Los Angeles "was truly a JFK moment". Because the sense of shock and grief were identical, in one case millions feeling a new era of civil rights and peace had been cruelly snuffed out; in the other, the realisation we would never again see a man go "Yow" while spinning in a circle.

Surely the only way out of this conflict is for everyone to accept that all swearing is fine - that no word is offensive, only sentiments are. With "fuck you" reduced to the level of "whoopsy-daisy", people who want to hurt each other's feelings will have to say what they mean: "You're old and I feel you're judging me!" or: "I have banged my head and feel that it's a poor reward from fate for all my under-the-stairs-cupboard cleaning efforts!" or: "I have made an enormous emotional investment in football matches that I cannot control. Consequently your team's victory has laid me bare and I well up with hate for all that you stand for!"

I sort of love him a lot. Everything I ever wanted to say when people tell me to stop swearing and it's a terrible habit. NO. Read what the wise man say, then some back and we'll go fuck yeah! and high five.
